행소기념실

행소 신일희 박사는 계명대학교 독어독문학과 교수, 계명대학교 총장을 역임하면서 계명대학교 발전에 큰 공적을 남겼습니다.
초대 총장으로 취임하여 “진리와 정의와 사랑의 나라를 위하여”를 대학의 교육이념으로 재정립하고, “학문의 탁월성 추구와 교육의 윤리성 앙양”을 교육목적으로 확정했습니다.
동시에 엄격한 재정 운영과 철저한 절약 정신의 실천, 그리고 외부 기부금 유치 등으로 계명대학교의 새로운 시대를 열었고 성서캠퍼스의 설계자이자 조성자로서 큰 업적을 남겼습니다.
민간 외교 활동을 활발히 전개하여 계명대학교가 국내뿐만 아니라 외국에 더 많이 알려진 대학으로 성장, 발전시켰으며, 이러한 교육적 업적과 문화·예술 지원 활동, 국제 학술·문화 교류 등 탁월한 국제적 역량을 발휘하여 국내외의 많은 훈장과 상을 수상하기도 하였습니다.

Through his service as University President and as a professor in the Department of German Language and Literature, Dr. Synn Ilhi, pen name Hengso, has made a great and lasting contribution toward the development of Keimyung University.
Appointed as the university’s first president, he established “The Pursuit of Academic Excellence and the Promotion of Ethical Values” as the educational goal of the university, and reestablished “For the Kingdom of Truth, Justice and Love,” as the university’s education ideology.
During his tenure he implemented strict financial policies and a spirit of frugality, and by attracting external donations, he led the university into a new era, overseeing the planning and development of Seongseo Campus.
By expanding its efforts in citizen diplomacy under Synn’s leadership, Keimyung University’s reputation has spread beyond the borders of Korea and onto the world stage.
Through academic achievement, the support of culture and arts, and by supporting, hosting, and fostering international academic and cultural exchange, the university has gone on to prove its excellence by receiving many national and international honors and awards.
