A rapidly changing modern industrial society requires the development of various industrial materials and advanced materials. The need for manufacturing and production technologies and maintaining quality consistency of industrial materials is continuously increased. Major of Advanced Materials Engineering Students is acquiring knowledge of basic structure and properties of materials. Therefore, it is clear that the Major of Advanced Materials Engineering will play a pivotal role in high-tech society.

History

March 1988: “Department of Materials Engineering” was newly established at the College of Engineering, and the New 50 students were admitted

March 1991: Moved to the 3rd Engineering Building

March 1993: Master’s course of Material Engineering was newly established

March 1998: Doctor’s course of Material Engineering was newly established

March 2003: Renamed as “Department of Advanced Materials Engineering”

March 2010: Changed admission unit according to Department of Advanced Materials Engineering

March 2020: Changed to the Department of Chemical Materials Engineering
